The International Ski Federation and the organisers of the Vitranc Cup have decided that the skiing holiday in Kranj will be reduced to Saturday only, when the slalom race for the Alpine Skiing World Cup will take place.
In Kranjska Gora, the assistant director of the World Cup for technical disciplines in men's alpine skiing, Jani Hladnik, is currently stationed. This morning, together with the team preparing the course for the World Cup in Kranjska Gora, he looked at the conditions on the competition course. The International Skiing Federation together with the organizers, based on what was seen and the weather forecast, made the decision to cancel Saturday's giant slalom and instead hold a slalom race on Saturday. There will be no World Cup match in Kranjska Gora on Sunday.
The president of OK Pokal Vitranc, Gregor Benedik, accompanied the decision by saying: "Outside temperatures and the related possibilities for the preparation of the track, which would allow for the preparation of a competition track according to the standards for men's World Cup matches and thus a safe competition, in addition to very unfavorable weather the forecast for Sunday, supported the decision that the giant slalom race will not take place, and instead the slalom will be held on Saturday".
Tickets purchased for Saturday's giant slalom or for 9.3. are valid on this day. Spectators will watch the slalom instead of the giant slalom. Also, the entire accompanying program will take place on Saturday, such as the performance of the Saša Avsenik Ensemble between the two runs in the destination arena Podkoren, as well as the Biggest Slovenian Après Ski starting at 4 p.m. in the center of Kranjska Gora with the awarding of trophies to the best in the slalom race.
Due to the cancellation of the competition on Sunday, all standing tickets on Sunday are valid for viewing the Saturday match. If you are a buyer of tickets for 10.3. unable to watch the competition the day before, on Saturday 9/3, they can request a refund at the Eventim and Petrol sales points (where they bought the ticket).
