The pandemic affects organization of all sports events and also the Vitranc Cup
Instead of a big celebration and a celebration of alpine skiing in Kranjska Gora, the organizing committee is plnning 4 different strategies for the forthcomming 60th Vitranc Cup, according to which the organization of World Cup races will take place. The strategies envisage 4 different ways of organisig the competitions completely without spectators to the 4th, which would mean the organization of races include spectators.
The choice of strategy depends on the recommendations of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and especially on the epidemiological picture in Slovenia and the recommendations of the National Health Care Institution and the measures that will be in force during the matches on 13th and 14th March 2021 in Slovenia. There is still more than 3 months until then and many sports competitions will take place by then.
The organizing committee of the Vitranc Cup, of course, would prefer very much that the 60th anniversary of the races in Kranjska Gora could be appropriately celebrated, but the health of all of us as well as the athletes is in the first place at the moment. If the races will take place without spectators, you will, as before, be able to watch races live broadcasted on TV. If not before, we will see all of you in Kranjska gora a year later.
