The Alpine Ski World Cup women's race, the fourth in a row this year, has been given the green light to be held in Kranjska Gora.
Director of the Alpine Ski World Cup for Women, Peter Gerdol, visited the race course in Podkoren today and confirmed the 11th edition of the Golden Fox in Kranjska Gora. This season, the races have been planned to be held in Kranjska Gora from the very beginning of the season. The races, both in the giant slalom, will take place on the first weekend of 2023, on 7 and 8 January.
"Today we are happy to confirm the upcoming Golden Fox competition. The course is not yet ready, but this is normal a week before the competition. We have enough snow everywhere on the lower part and most of it is already well consolidated, but the upper part will need a bit more consolidation, which is also the task of the organiser for the next week," Gerdol told the media after the inspection.
This year again, some of the Kranjska Gora workers will help in the realisation of the races, forming a team together with the members of SK Branik, who have been synchronously carrying out all the necessary works and operations for the last 4 years.
Last year's Golden Fox races in Kranjska Gora was won by Sweden's Sara Hector in the giant slalom and Petra Vlhova in the slalom.
