In Kranjska Gora, the Gruba’s Memorial will take place today, which is held in memory of the skier Drago Grubelnik, who tragically passed away in 2015.
The Grubas Memorial has been the prelude to the Vitranc Cup for several years.
It starts at the Kranjska Gora ski resort with a charity giant slalom race with ski stars at 19:00, followed by a big concert by Big Foot Mama and the surprises of the evening at 21.15 on the stage at the Kompas Hotel.
This year, the funds raised will be donated to Brina - a little girl with a smile who has been battling cerebral palsy since birth and needs daily help from those closest to her. Due to Brina's illness, her mother is unemployed and the girl needs constant therapies, even on a self-pay basis. Her mother receives a partial payment for loss of income, but the meagre benefits are barely enough to cover all the family's basic monthly expenses. The funds will be used to cover basic necessities and the cost of therapies, thus enabling her to have a healthy all-round development and a better childhood.
