For the third time in the last three years, the weather does not allow the organisers of Maribor WC races to hold a competition on Pohorje.
Due to unfavorable weather conditions and lack of snow on Mariborsko Pohorje, the organizers of the Golden Fox agreed with the organizers of the Vitranc Cup on the implementation of the Golden Fox on the Vitranc cup race course. Unusually high outside temperatures and the announced warming have triggered agreements between the organizers of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Maribor and Kranjska Gora. The organizers, OC Zlata Lisica, SK Branik and the company Marprom made every effort to hold the ladies Alpine Skiing World Cup Maribor, but unfortunately the weather is not destined for them this year either.
Gregor Benedik, president of the OK Vitranc Cup, accompanied the agreement with the words: We are happy to be able to come to the aid of Maribor, which shows that Slovenians know how to stand together and work together to keep the match in Slovenia. Podkoren has enough snow, but some work will be needed to consolidate the competition track with water, "said Ale Vidic, head of the competition for the Vitranc Cup. The Secretary General of the Golden Fox OK, Sreko Vilar, said: The Golden Fox will be in Slovenia and this is the most important thing. I can sincerely thank our friends from Kranjska Gora for their support. We will do everything to make the Golden Fox a great sporting event in Kranjska Gora as well.
Due to the increase in the number of infections with the new version of the coronavirus, the matches for the Golden Fox in Kranjska Gora will be held without spectators.
