Larix Hotel in Kranjska Gora hosted a press conference at which the preparations for the 46th Cup Vitranc were presented. Giant slalom race will take place on Saturday 3 March with the first run starting at 9:30, and the second one at 13:00.
Slalom race will take place on Sunday 4 March with the first run starting at 10:00 and the second one at 13:00. On both days the prize giving ceremonies shall follow at the end of races in Podkoren, while a press conference with the best three competitors will be organised at the Kompas Hotel in Kranjska Gora.
Public draw of starting numbers for the giant slalom will take place at the Team captains meeting while the public draw for Sunday slalom will take place on the Snow Beach behind the Larix Hotel on Saturday at 19:15. At that time an entertainment event X-plosion of Fun with Siddharta, Neisha and Valentino Kanziani will also begin. Former alpine skier Jure Koir is again organising the Ski Legends Hit Challenge this year where the most famous stars of white circus will be participating.
The preparations of the race course for the Cup Vitranc are already underway. The temperatures have not been kind to us recently and the forecasts are just as disappointing yet the said circumstances should not prevent us from preparing the race course. Poligon shall most probably be closed for free skiing on Monday in order for us to dedicate our attention to works on the race course. Mr Janko Pirc, the Head of Race Course helped by the members of ASK Kranjska Gora (Alpine Ski Club Kranjska Gora) and other ski clubs of Upper Carniola Region. A novelty which was introduced this year is a new method of selling tickets for spectators. Tickets may be bought through a web site www.eventim.si. The tickets shall also be sold on the day of the race, namely at the sale-point located in front of the entrance to the Finishing Area.
