On the sidelines of today's men's alpine skiing world cup in Kranjska Gora, SPIRIT Slovenia organized a meeting of business representatives, at which they also marked an important milestone – the agency's 10th anniversary.
This year, the agency is celebrating its tenth anniversary of operation under this name, otherwise they have a thirty-year history of successful support of Slovenian and foreign companies. "Behind all our programs, services and activities is a top-notch, motivated and professional team of employees. Without their commitment and dedication to common goals, as well as perseverance and responsibility, the agency and all our successes would not exist," Rok Capl, acting director of SPIRIT Slovenia.
The opening address was given by Marko Lotri, President of the National Council, who pointed out that "The promotion of domestic entrepreneurship, internationalisation, foreign investment and, especially in recent years, the introduction of new technologies is crucial for the economy. We must be aware that it is the economy that makes the country as a whole flourish or flourish. For the future of the Slovenian economy, it is important to focus on young people, starting with the school system, which should work more closely with the economy."
"The Slovenian economy is relatively small and export-oriented. It is therefore crucial that it has stable support from the state and its institutions and implementing agencies such as SPIRIT Slovenia. Over the years, the Agency has successfully fulfilled its mission, been committed to the promotion and development of entrepreneurship, encouraged the development of businesses, helped Slovenian companies penetrate foreign markets through a range of activities and actively attracted foreign investors," said Matja Han, Minister of the Economy, Tourism and Sport.
The synergies between sport and business were also demonstrated by a conversation with an Kranjc, the 2022 Olympic gold medallist in the giant slalom at the Winter Olympics and winner of two World Cup races, who took the time to greet the participants immediately after the successful race. He gave his prescription for patience in achieving your goals: it is the motivation to succeed that keeps you going even through the tough tests, and it also helps if you enjoy what you do. But patience, perseverance, determination and courage are essential ingredients for success in sport and business
