Žan Kranjec will hit the racecourse with an excellent starting point.
In the first giant slalom run on the Poligon slope, everything went according to plan for an Kranjec. He delighted his home fans and himself by finishing in third place. Frenchman Alexis Pinturault is in the lead, and surprisingly, Norwegian Lucas Braathen, who came in with number 16, is second. The first favourite to win, Switzerlands Marco Odermatt, is seventh, 42 hundredths behind Pinturault. The first racecourse was set by Odermatt's coach.
